Ingredients – Chamomile, Lemon Balm, Passionflower.
Serving suggestion – infuse one heaped tablespoon in approximately 200/250 ml boiling water and enjoy, can do this up to 3 times throughout the day. Tip – cover the tea as it infuses to keep in the beneficial volatile oils. Drink hot or cold.
Therapeutic teas may taste strong, this is required for the best therapeutic experience. Addition of honey, lemon, fennel, cardamon, ginger or liquorice may be added for taste and as an extra addition for health benefits.
Passionflower – Traditional uses include irritability, sleep problems, anxiety and restlessness. May calm the central nervous system. Contains indole alkaloids providing muscle relaxing and sedative effects. Chemical constituent Chrysin may be responsible for its anti-anxiety effects by modulation of the GABA receptors and GABA re-uptake. No safety issues have been documented under recommended dose.
Lemon balm – May be useful for many kinds of sleep issues as it supports the relaxing neurotransmitter, GABA. The cooling nature of lemon balm is particularly valuable for menopause where sleep is interrupted by hot flushes. Contains flavonoids and phenolic acids.
Chamomile – It has been reported that many menopause symptoms have been reduced due to the effects of this medicinal plants. For example, chamomile and fennel as phytoestrogens may alleviate hot flashes and strengthen the reproductive and urinary system.
Caution – Chamomile is from the ASTERACEA family, avoid within known allergies to this family. Always consult your doctor if you are pregnant, lactating or taking medications before consuming herbs.
